Getting a spec wrong on this site isn’t a minor error. The wrong torque figure can damage a wheel hub. The wrong oil capacity can damage an engine. So here’s exactly how the numbers on Fitment Facts get here, and what you should still check yourself before you rely on them.
Where the numbers come from
Every figure is taken directly from manufacturer owner’s manuals or official service documentation. I don’t pull numbers from other spec websites, forums, or AI-generated summaries. If a figure can’t be traced back to a manufacturer source, it doesn’t go on this site.
What “verified” means on this site
Every spec page shows two things at the bottom: the specific document the figure came from, and the date I checked it. That date isn’t when the page was published. It’s when I last confirmed the number against the source. If you see a figure with no source listed, treat it as unverified and don’t rely on it, and let me know so it can be fixed or removed.
Why numbers are grouped by engine, not trim
Fluid capacities, tire sizes, and torque specs usually track the engine and drivetrain, not the trim badge. A base model and a top trim with the same engine typically take the same oil. Two trims with the same badge but different engines often don’t. Pages here are grouped accordingly, and the trim or engine each figure applies to is stated plainly, not buried in fine print.
What this site can’t replace
Manufacturers occasionally issue running changes mid-model-year that don’t always make it into the published manual. Options, regional variants, and dealer-installed equipment can also shift a spec. Before you do any work on your vehicle, check the figure against your own owner’s manual or the door jamb placard for your specific car. This site is a reference to work from, not a substitute for confirming against your actual vehicle.
